Each year, London is proud to welcome over 26 million visitors to the Capital. More than 13 million come from outside the UK every day of the year, London really does ‘welcome the world’.

The King's Cross Business Forum, in partnership with The British Library Business & IP Centre and Regional Language Network London present 'Welcoming the world' a seminar focusing on customer service to visitors from outside the UK. This is a repeat of the seminar run in September 2007, back by popular demand.

‘Welcoming the World’ is an exciting new initiative aimed at businesses who want to make the most of this huge opportunity.  You and your staff will not have the same cultural background as many overseas customers – and you won’t always speak the same language. This lively, interactive session will help you and your customer service team to understand cultural differences and improve the way you communicate – increasing your sales and repeat business.

Why attend? For advice on giving a great welcome to international visitors and doing business overseas.

Who is the event for?  Any business that wants to improve their customer service for overseas visitors and increase their international business . This session is targeted particularly at people working in hotels, retail, restaurants, transport and tourist attractions – but will also be of interest to any business wanting to develop their international dimension.

Topics include:

  • Developing cultural awareness and customer service for overseas customers
  • Focus on France and the French
  • Advice to help your staff and your business bridge the language and culture gap
  •  A step-by step approach to improve your international communication and give you the winning edge

Attendees will get a FREE Welcoming the World phrasebook with customer service phrases in 12 languages, a cultural guide on France and a range of international communication business guides

Registration, coffees and networking from 3.00pm, with the seminar starting at 3.30pm.

If you would like to attend this seminar and you need to make us aware of any requirements you may have (e.g. dietary, access) please let us know as soon as possible.

Limited places are available, priority will be made for new KXBF members and places are first come first served.
